When I first started in the practice of elder law, I was terrified of nursing home Medicaid applications.

There was so much to do ... and so much room for error.

But I also knew one thing: if I didn't make nursing home Medicaid a cornerstone of my law practice, I was not only going to fail to serve the very clients I was eager to help - the ones that needed me the most! - I was also going to lose out on a LOT of money.

The problem?  I was busy. And to add this crucial service to my practice seemed daunting, if not impossible.

Even worse, how could I trust a staff member to handle this complex process - wasn't it just "easier to do it myself?"

(NO, as it turns out!)

That's where my paralegal Sharon comes in.  I decided I couldn't afford to lose out on this opportunity to serve clients, but I also needed the help.  There was just no way around it!

Together, we spent several years creating a "foolproof" process of getting our applications done.

Even better: to this day, we have a 100% success rate on our nursing home Medicaid applications (and we do a lot of them!). 

I've (knock on wood!) never had to do a fair hearing, either.
